Missing Packets
I had noticed that my NTL broadband was running slower than usual. This happens sometimes and as an NTL customer you kind of get used to it. However, yesterday every site I visited started to hang, emails were slow and although at first I assumed it was the heavy storms in the area I decided to give the support desk a call.
Going off topic for a moment, why is it that when your having problems accessing the Internet and you call a help desk your greeted with a recorded message informing you that you can check the connection status online?
Within a few minutes the lady at the other end kindly informed me that I have one in 5 packets going missing, a good job that it is not packets of money or something else more valuable. So if you are waiting for an email reply then it could still be sitting on the server waiting to be delivered. Please do not send another as I have been assured all *should* be fixed later today.
